Jen and I went to Cofa to check out the exhibition for Design Week before it ended
On the way to COFA, passed heaps of these poles all decorated...mmm...prettae.....
anyone know who did them up? I'm guessing it's the COFA students!
Home Brand Bracelet 2007 - Mark Vaarwerk
made of plastic home Brand tomato sauce bottles and sterling silver
Intensive Care Bracelet 2007 (The yellow bangle) - Mark Vaarwerk
made of plastic Vaseline intensive care lotion, aloe vera bottles, and sterling silver
These bangles by Mark Vaarwerk were probably my favourite designs at the exhibition, because of how creative they were with the materials, and how finished they look, even though the materials are like WHOA! How awesome to wear and say you're wearing a vaseline container!

In the photographs of this, on brochures and websites and stuff, this looked more organic and earthy, but when we saw it live it was more metallic and cold looking. It's MASSIVE though! It's the first thing you see when you walk into the exhibition because it sits in the corner of the room all isolated in the darkness. Then next to it on the other side are these smaller lights, which get all overwhelmed by this massive giant one.

This clothing store right next to COFA always has the most interesting window displays...paintings, installations, bugs...... way to catch your attention! I bet they get creative awesome COFA students to design the displays!!
clean and tidy
